Car Boot Dog Bed Tuffie Nest

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone owns a Tuffie Nest bed? I was thinking of buying a wipe clean one for my car boot to stop my dog from falling all over the place when we drive. Or any recommendations for other beds? I like the Tuffie Nest because it is high-sided all round and wipe clean.

Thanks in advance

My dogs have a Tuffies Wipeclean Nest. It’s amazing, doesn’t smell, sides don’t collapse. I’m saving for another to replace their old hallway bed.

Thanks BiggFact Hunt - are they so high that she would have to jump into it or are the sides still low enough to step into it - I'm just trying to work out if she'll be able to get into it in the boot (where there's less room to jump) - are the sides totally hard or do they have some give in them?

They are quite high but soft. Not rigid at all but strong enough to support heads and paws. I’m sure there’s ones with a dropped front for easier access too.

ArseDog has 2 - one at home and one in the boot, both of them the high-sided ones with easy-access fronts. They are SO sturdy, easy to clean and ArseDog looks seriously cosy in his. I have removable covers on ours, so that I can take them off and wash them every week. They're brilliant. We've had one for approx. 6 years and the other is relatively recent, but apart from a bit of the fleece covering looking a little bald on the old one, it still looks as good as new.

Thank you both for your replies :)

Can I ask TheReturn - do the beds with the easy access still keep them secure in the boot? I was trying to work out, if I was to brake, whether the low front would still throw her forward? Or is there enough wall at either side of the opening to hold them in?

To be honest, it probably depends on the size of your boot/the bed. I have a large bed in a small-ish boot. If I were to brake hard, ArseDog would indeed be thrown forward - the bed wouldn't keep him secure from that point of view, though I'm sure it would soften the blow to some extent. Truth is, before I put a bed in there, he would have been randomly thrown around in there anyway Shock, and I only put it in there because I wanted him to be a bit warmer when he gets left in the car for 40 minutes whilst I do a shop after a cold winter walk at the weekend.

I'm not sure how other people secure their dogs in boots ... we used to have a crate in there, but that didn't stop DDog from being thrown around. Round here, I usually see dogs untethered in the boot, to be honest.
