Has anyone got any tips on how to stop my 2 year old dog playing up putting her harness on and from pulling I've tried everything and it's really getting to me now I don't know weather it's the excitement of going out or just the way she is any help would be much appreciated x

What sort of dog?

What sort of harness?

Playing up how?

Has she any training?

She's a staff cross, it's a leather staffie one I've got, she will let me put it over her head but when I come to put the buckle part on round her tummy she starts to run off and around the living room, she is okay once it's on but when we go to go out she pulls on the lead so not sure if it's excitement I've tried mostly everything.

First, make sure the harness is correctly fitting and comfortable. Make sure the buckle is causing any pain.
It may be that on one occasion the buckle pinched her so now she is wary of it. Or perhaps the sound of the 'click'?

If it is just excitement then
Put harness over her head. When she runs off, just leave her. Sit down, put the tv on, read a book. Once shes calmed down, call her over and do the buckle up. If she runs round again, sit back down. When shes calm, put the lead on.

Other things to do are weaken the association between harness and walk. So at random times, put the harness on her, then do something else, then remove the harness.
Repeat this until harness no longer necessarily means walk. Reward the calm behaviour with treats etc.

I've tried the sit down method but she still too excited circling me like she's a shark, I might try the other one you have said and see how I get on thank you.
