Hello,

I have the most gorgeous Labrador puppy (named Bambi) Grin

He's a little shit.

I work from home, so thought a dog would be good. Hell no. I get no work done, he is so naughty! Biting at my toes... he always wants to play, but I can't do that while I'm working from home.

There's doggy daycare relatively local. Is it mean???

Yeah - wfh whilst puppy sleeps - did he hell! He is 10 months old now though and snoozing under my desk! He did finally get the idea BUT:

  • I got no work done for about 4 months after he first arrived;
  • I have to get up at 6am so he can have a long walk, cuddle session, playtime and brush before I sit at my desk;
  • I no longer get to netflix and chill at lunchtime - I spend my lunchbreaks playing football in the garden!
  • I am lucky that DH gets home at 3:30 with DD and they take over entertaining a restless puppy (he starts to play up about 3pm as he wants someone to come and DO something!)

It does get better as they get used to the routine but I assume it will be a fair while (if ever) before he'll sleep 9 - 5!

I am lucky my giant schnauzer is 7 months and sleeps while I work either downstairs with him or upstairs in case he barks at my clients on the phoneGrin. He has always been pretty chilled and even as an 8/9 week puppy just slept under my chair as I worked.
However I too got nothing done in the first couple of weeks between cleaning pee and playing outside.
I do however just let him go and wander about the garden and do zoomies if he looks like he wants outside.
I see the fun police were out in full force this morning too. Ah well puppies can be a pain in the arse no matter how prepared or well read you are, but I am assuming the pp is a perfect mother too (or if child free talks a good game!)
