Scratch, scratch, scratch. Changed to raw feeding, when will detox end?

Poor Ddog has allergies, we are just trying to identify what to.
Changed her from tails.com to raw, pure minced lamb Saturday just gone.

Scratching/licking is worse, if possible. She smells worse than before/passing wind - never do tha before.

Is this detox?

Have you tried a proper veterinary exclusion diet such as purina ha? Would pretty much make it clear if it’s environmental or food.

I would also get allergy bloods if that’s not what your already doing, expensive and worth every penny for the dog Smile

Honeyroar - think we have got confused as I am not the OP Smile I just waded in half way through the thread with my issues!! ha ha

It's weird how different vets are saying different things... god knows who to believe.

No Greyhorses, I haven't tried anything yet apart from what I am doing. Pup is only 14 weeks old and I have had her since she was 8 weeks, first couple of weeks I thought she was a bit itchy around her collar area, but just thought it was the collar that was doing it. It wasn't until 2.5 weeks ago that I really thought my goodness she is scratching herself way too much but it was the middle of the night as we were just going on holiday and getting a stupidly early flight and I noticed that her skin was much pinker than usual and she was really itchy. Husband took her to the vet who just said it might be something enviromental but didn't think her skin looked troublesome (by then skin had calmed right down). I have been back from holiday for 8 days and took back again on Thursday and vet then said it might be fungus in the ears or it might be food allergies but again skin is not raw but it does become inflamed and go quite pink ever now and then.

So it is all very new and I am just starting on a journey of trying to work out whats wrong...

I will definitely get bloods done if necessary but for now have ordered a saliva test from easydna to see what that throws up plus am sticking to the food regime I mentioned earlier.

I am doing the last few cubes of the chicken, salmon, rice and veg but from tomorrow lunch she will be on the turkey, salmon, sweet potato and veg with no royal canin and we will see how she fares - at the moment it is looking good though! Definitely less scratching and itching today Smile

And again sorry Honeyroar - you were probably responding to the OP in your post but I thought you were responding to me.

Sorry for all the confusion I have caused Blush

Ah sorry, missed the puppy part! Mine was very itchy for the first few months too but is not allergic. Old dog on the other hand is allergic to life however we only found this out by sending allergy bloods to avacta, we control it with medication but obviously you will need a diagnosis for this.

It can be really hard to identity the problem and some breeds are much more prone to bad skin than others.

Hope puppy feels better soon!

Thanks greyhorses, I will keep you posted. I have an older dog of the same breed and she is pretty cast iron allergy (skin) wise and I don't remember her bein overly scratch as a young dog but then again as she was my first dog maybe I wouldn't have particularly noticed - who knows.
