Can I give 13 week old pup a yak chew?

Just arrive through post but it's soooo hard..

What breed? And what age? They are safe for puppies and get soft with all the licking/chewing.

They are fermented yaks milk - so not a brittle chew, although they do look pretty tough.

I would always supervise chew time, all ages and all chews. Never ever give rawhide.

He may not take to it straight away, I don't think it gets tasty until the outer layer has broken - if that makes sense.

I have two dogs, my boy gets stuck in straight away. My girl walks around with hers in her mouth, crying, as she tries to find a place to hide it. When I swop hers with the slightly chewed one she will start chewing. Keeps them quiet for hours!

When the yakkers get really small, you can pop in the microwave for a minute and they puff up like a giant pork scratching! They particularly love this stage. Be aware though, the smell 🤢

Our pup really loves his yak bars, we use them to occupy him while we're eating, to stop him trying to mooch. It feels hard but I don't think it's anywhere near hard enough to do any damage to his teeth.

I know some people won't agree but our pup also had an antler (it said on the packaging it was fine for pups) from 9 weeks, supervised, when he was teething - worked a treat as he has never chewed anything he shouldn't (he's nearly 11 months now).

Yes! Curdled milk/warm vomit smell. I just leave in the garden to cool off and the smell disappears when it's cold again.

You could try water, or possibly making a few grooves with a bread knife?
