'Gift' for a dog

Hi everyone.

A friend has done me the most enormous favour so I'm sending him a present in thanks. His best friend in the world is his dog, so I want to include a present for the dog too. But what on earth do I buy? All I know about the the dog is that he's elderly (almost blind & doesn't walk far) and grumpy!

I'd be grateful for any ideas.

A nice soft bed? Blanket? Bag of favourite dog treats!? Grooming mitt?

snuffle mats are great fun for less mobile dogs. ( not necessarily this link, there are loads on Ebay and pet shops etc)

Something easy and food based would be my suggestion. Snuffle mats are great, but may be beyond what you want to spend (£15-20) as you described the present as being a "little" one!

Lickimats (£3.89) are designed for soft food / treats / peanut butter to be squished into it and then the dog licks it out - easy for the elderly dog but still something a bit different www.amazon.co.uk/LICKIMAT-Buddy-Treat-Assorted-colors/dp/B072HKRVGB/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=lickimat&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1533114857&sr=8-1

Do you know what breed he is? Some breeds have a tendency to like certain toys e.g. terriers often love balls.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. As far as I know, he's part collie but isn't much keen on chasing/retrieving/balls etc. So I'll check out those links for a more sedate present Smile
