Wound to the tail

My lab cross has got a would on the base of his tail by the bum, he got it on Saturday and I've been trying to keep it clean, but he keeps taking the bandage off and licking it so not healing. Problem is I can't get to the vets until the weekend when I get paid, what can I do until Saturday?

Maybe put a cone on him so he can't lick it.

The air needs to get to it for it to heal, sounds like he might have chewed himself if his anal glands were giving him hassle. He needs a buster collar, most vets will sell you one if you just walk in so I'd try and stop off on the way home. I have a couple of spares at all times for mine Sad

He got into a fight while out for a walk on Saturday and has a small puncture wound on his tail. I can't afford to get a buster collar until the weekend that's my problem.

You are going to have to try and find someway of stopping him licking and biting it otherwise it will get worse and potentially cost more. At times I have literally sat and slept next to my dog when he managed to chew collars off to physically stop him licking wounds.

I have seen people fashion home made collars online but how effective they are I have no idea but you could google.

I got leucillin antiseptic drops the other day which seemed to help clear up a sore paw and another small wound. It was about £5?
