Teenage dog and pregnant

Hi! Just looking for any tips really on how to survive the teenage dog phase?! I have an almost 1 year old border terrier dog and generally he is a lovely placid boy. Im also 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby. The dog can be a cheeky pest at times but I know that's expected with both his breed and age!

I was wondering if anyone's dogs became more clingy in their adolescent phase? Or perhaps it's because I'm pregnant? He also now seems to not listen to a word I say but will (usually) listen to my husband. His recall has completely gone down hill (which again I realise is completely normal). He has also started having more puppy like moments where he will jump up and bite the lead or try to nip my feet when he wants to play. Again he only does this with me and not my husband!

So if anyone has any teenage dog tips then please let me know 😊 I guess im keen to try and get some of these things sorted before the baby comes as I know it will only get harder once babies here!

If he's acting like a puppy then treat him like one. Back to basics with the training. Be consistent. Firm and fair. Don't over dramatise.

Dog do treat people differently. BiteyDog knows he can get away with more with my DH than with me as I am more consistent and stricter with training.

At the age of your dog they are still pushing boundaries so you need to start reinforcing the training yourself so he listens to you and not just your husband.
