Seriously.. we can't walk around our own house.

She's only 10wks and I KNOW puppies bite/nip but this is ridiculous, and it hurts.

I'm almost at my wits end with her at the moment, i'm sick of my feet/toes/hands being constantly bitten.

She's got plenty of toys. We've tried distraction, we've tried telling her no. we've tried just removing her silently, we've tried the 'ouch' and withdrawing... nothing is working.

We've had 4 puppies before and yes, she is our first terrier, help?

we had a bitey GSD...anything like a wobbly slipper or a flappy trouser leg or skirt, having the audacity to have ankles...anything would set him off on a game of biteybitey ALL of the moving things

we cured him over a weekend, by walking v-e-r-y-s-l-o-o-o-o-o-w-l-y everywhere, in the house and garden....using "close" as a command if he was walking along without trying to catch a hold of something, and having a very high value treat or toy to keep his attention

I haven't any terrier experience though....it's all GSDs and lab types here!

Can you carry her out to the garden and run her ragged out there if it is over excitement getting the better of her? Is it when she is playing or when you are walking?

its when we're walking. She can't go outside until next week, but we're hoping being able to take her for a walk might help.

Will give the walking slowly thing a go!

Terrier person here. With the last one the only thing that worked was time out. Straight into cage for a few minutes and start again. She was unbelievable. Still now age three when she has her zoom time she will go to bite my ankle then think better of it. She bites all the others though. She would just be absolutely manic. My ankles were black and blue.

I know not everyone agrees with time out but when she was like that it was the only way to calm down.

Yeah, mine was a foot / trouser leg biter. He got better (although he reverts if over tired or over excited). I used to just stop and pick him up then put him back down. It often distracted him a bit. But all my pjs and my dressing gown, 2 pairs of leggings and 1 pair of tracksuit bottoms have holes in where he used to jump up and bite them. All my jeans have pulls in too and many socks lost their lives.

When my GSD was that age we could not move around him without him biting our feet/trousers. It was incessant, I truly thought he would never stop! We were pretty consistent with training. Our trainer suggested to pick him up and put him on our lap (dog facing forward) whenever he bit (have hands either side of upper back so pup can't bite hands). When he got too big for that he would get a timeout (placed in a room on his own). Also, lots of praise when he would go for you and then stop. He is bloody perfect with mouthing now, so much so that it actually impedes teeth brushing! It definitely requires patience (hated being given that advice at the time) and consistency. We also had indoor wellies for the people in the house who were most fearful of the nipping.

Puppies bite. Mine is seventeen weeks and still does it, though he's not as bad as he was.

If we're playing and he starts biting, we stop play immediately and ignore him. If he jumps up and bites, arms folded and head turned so he can't see your face. Reward as soon as he puts all four paws on the floor.

You can also divert his attention to toys, so if he bites, give him a chew to bite on, though this didn't really work with ours as he's never been hugely into his toys!

Agree with @fourpaws....time out and check pups getting enough sleep per day as that makes them snappy!
