There was poo on the floor this morning when I was drinking my tea.i looked up and noticed it,thought that's odd I would of seen her poo,so I cleaned it up ,and she's jumped on the sofa eating a sausage,I'm thinking ,where's she got that.....it wasn't a sausage...so she hadn't done a poo on my floor....she has never done this before.she utterly stinks now,and I am beyond upset ..she has food down ..James well beloved...she had food and water in her bowls,..I tried to get it out of her mouth ,but I couldn't...she is my second dog.third if you count my childhood dog ,and neither of them did this 😥😢😪

Dogs do gross things. Coprophagia is normal. It can be for loads of reasons.

If its a one off I wouldn't worry too much.

If she starts doing it more often then it could be a dietary deficiency or there could be a medical reason.
Has there been any big changes in her/your life recently? It could be a stress related thing.

How old is she?

She's 15 months old

You didn't do the toilet training method of shoving her face in the poo when she had an accident in the house did you? As that can lead to the dog trying to hide the evidence.

Does she often poo in the house?

To make sure the coprophagia doesn't become a habit, try to be very proactive in clearing any up as soon as possible.

Like I said, keep an eye on her, if it does happen again then maybe she might need a quick vet check to ensure she's not suffering from anything.

Nessie..no absolutely not..I've a feeling it could of been a cat poo ,rather than her poo..I'm also meticulously checking now for poo and removing it fast

Mine still eats her poo if she can. One thing I wouldn't do is try and get it off her! Yuk. It rarely happens now, but if she does get some I just ignore it, and make sure her mouth comes nowhere near me for a long time. I'm hoping she will grow out of it one day.
