Hobnobs

I keep a pack of hobnobs by my bed for morning sickness. Have just had my dog come down with a pleased look on his face. My husband left the stair gate open and doggo has eaten 2/3rds of a small pack. Do we need to contact the vet? Or will he be okay?

I would expect him to be fine - take account for the extra calories by cutting down the next meal or two and keep an eye on him and talk to your vet if he shows any signs of behaving oddly.

Yeah, I’ll probably not give him any dry food today, just his bit of wet before bed.

Presumably not the chocolate hobknobs, which would be worrying as chocolate is toxic to dogs.

How big is your dog? My Goldie are a two layered box of chocolate Christmas biscuits a couple years ago and was absolutely fine, no sickness or diarrhoea. If course it could be a different story for another dog, especially a smaller breed.

I would think he will be stuffed but fine.

He’s a miniature schnauzer. Deffo plain hobnobs. No weird poops or anything unusual yet!!!

I wouldn't worry. I turned around earlier to find my dog eating congealed Saturday night vomit from the pavement. Several hours later and he's fine. Hobnobs are very tame compared to some of the stuff PestDog has eaten and survived without veterinary intervention!

Mines a biscuit thief. Ate some fruit shortcake a while back. Had me worried for a day or so, given that currants/raisins are poisonous for dogs.
