We have a small, lazy dog words quite sensitive. He does not do so well in Kennels hence he hasn't been left for a long time.
Later this year we are making a trip in memory of a lost relative, so, for two weeks he needs care. Usually one of the adult kids has him but they are coming on the trip.
I have tried to persuade dh toward house sitting but he won't consider that. I have thought of sending him to a home boarder but he can be grumpy with people he doesn't know (though I guess same applies with a house sitter)
Mil has offered to come to our house in the morning, walk him and sit with him for a few hours (she's retired), then return in the evening, walk and tea and stay until about half nine and put him to bed ( his usual time). My lovely ndn (attached) will have a key in the very small chance she heard him in the night but had also offered to pop in and say hello between mil's visits.
This way he could stay happy in his home and not stress quite as much and he adores Mil anyway.
Would this be a workable solution do you think? I'm fretting more than the dog is!
