Dog snoring

Our spaniel snores so loudly! He always has but now sitting up feeding DS it is driving me insane! We have a 3 storey townhouse and I can hear him from the too floor. Is there anything at all to do? Anyone else got a snorer who wants to commiserate?

Me - but I love it - she's a Frenchie x Boston.

I also snore Smile

Mine has frequent doggy dreams so does half hearted woofs or very very frightening long howls in his sleep: sometimes his legs do mini running in the air too🙄.

this is why I banished our older dog back downstairs, he decided he would come to bed with us ...just to lord it over the other one who wouldn't do the stairs I think..but between dh snoring, the dog snoring, then cleaning his feet, nibbing his toes, stamping off to investigate a child noise and stamping back with a sigh to indicate his disapproval at MY shite parenting I was barely getting a ten minute stretch of shut eye ever!

NB: the children in question were late teens at that point!!

Our late Staffy X was a loud snorer. When she had to share my room because her mum (DD) was away for the night she would wake me up. Frequently. Still loved her though.

I have a snoring Lhaso and at times she gives my hubby a run for his money 😂🙈

I don't have one that snores but he does seem to do really loud sighs like he's showing his disdain of any noise he can hear which is disturbing him. I do find it comforting to hear his deep breathing and little woofs when he's dreaming.

We have a snory lab. She even snores when she is awake. Never sleeps upstairs so I don't hear her at night but I'm sure our other lab has a disturbed night! We do have to put them to bed early sometimes as we can't hear the TV over her. They sleep in the utility room.

Our late spaniel was such a bad snorer. We used to call her the truffle hunter

Floralnomad · 05/02/2018 18:12

Our dog snores a fair bit probably due to his tracheal problems as he’s not flat faced . He shares a double bed with ds and ds is 50/60% deaf so he doesn’t disturb him . OP have you had him checked at the vets to see if there is a reason for his snoring as he’s not a flat faced breed .

He is going next week so I will ask the vet then, he also snorts a lot when he is awake. I will get him weighed too, I know in humans being overweight can exacerbate snoring so maybe the same applies to dogs.
