Can dogs eat egg shell

My dogs are having an egg on their breakfast, someone said they can eat the shell as well? Is this right? Does it need crushing up or just giving in its halfs from breaking out the yolk/white?

I just give my (tiny) dog a whole raw egg outside. She bats it around and chases it before crushing it and wolfing the whole thing. Great fun.

I crush the shell when I give my dogs raw eggs, but only as I don't want them recognising whole eggs as we have chickens

Can I give a dog a raw egg as a treat, if she normally fed dry food?? I know people dont recommend mixing dry and raw feed, not sure if a egg counts.

Yep they can eat shells and raw egg if they're raw fed too.

I also give my dog whole raw eggs. But only in the garden!

My big girls (20 kgs plus) love whole eggs raw or cooked, complete with the shell. The little one (5 kg jack russell) won't eat the shells but loves what's inside. I don't bother crushing them.

Oh and mine are fed dry food with the occasional dog-safe human food leftovers, no issues with adding some eggs every now and then - we also have chickens and they lay more eggs we are able to use so the dogs often get the older eggs as I make space for the fresh ones.

Thank you. They both loved the shell.

My Cocker also had to actually chew his food too (he normally just guzzles it down).

My Cavalier had to have the shell broken up as he was trying to carry it like a ball (it turns out he is gentle enough carrying things that he didn't break the egg!!!!Shock)

Spider mine are kibble fed, the egg is to help add calories to fatten up my skinny Cav, who has a sensitive tum and doesn't cope with extra kibble but does cope with added raw egg with breakfast and baked potato or rice with dinner. The cocker is a puppy so is keeping a good weight as he grows with the same additions.
