I’ve just left a note on a car

It was a very polite note, saying please don’t leave your dog in your car, it’s clearly very distressed. Car park in town, no idea where the owners could even be. Blacked out windows so can’t even see the dog but awful whining and crying coming from boot. Was doing it when we parked up, kept crying all the time I was faffing getting my ticket and hanging around to see if the owner had just popped off somewhere. Just been back to the car, we’re in a cafe about five minutes away and there’s still whining and crying. Don’t know what else to do apart from tell them in the hope that they don’t bloody do it again. I’ve tucked it under the wiper, I hope it doesn’t blow away. Could I have done anything else? Poor dog. Sad

I suspect that either they don't know.

Either that or they know, and the dog has major separation anxiety and by bringing it in the car, rather than by leaving them at home, they can minimise the time the dog is left alone

Either way, nothing wrong with leaving a note

I suspect that the dog has separation anxiety and isn’t happy wherever it’s left.

If it was our dog I would have left a note on the dash saying that. In the summer I sometimes leave the car locked, running with the A/C on with a note saying that.

Thanks, I feel bad for not being able to do anything and I feel bad for having a go at the owners as well. They might not realise that there’s a problem. Hopefully they’ll see the note and not be pissed off but be grateful that someone brought it to their attention. Confused

I think it would piss me off tbh. Obviously a different matter if the temperature was high and the dogs life at risk.

I think you shouldn't ever get a dog Grin

Too late I've already got one!

I think it's the telling them what to do that's the problem. I remember a woman having a right go at me because my toddler dd was creating when she wouldn't go to the loo and she needed to go. Yes it's distressing hearing a child/puppy cry but sometimes you don't know the full story.
