Granddog help

My dd’s dog had his worm tabs at 2pm. At 10pm he threw up. He’s fine now, eating, playing etc.

Does he need his tab again?

Should she wait a week then give it again?

I have a dog (golden retriever) who throws up every time they have the worm tablets.
Given the time span, it probably has worked. Can you have his poo checked by the vet? Usually they won't charge much.
My girl throws up within half an hour, which obviously means the tab has not been digested, so we have been giving her a lower dosage of puppy dewormer for 3 consecutive days (as advised by our vet).

Similar thing happened with my dog once. I called the vets to get advice on when to give another dose. It might be different depending on the type of worming tablets so I think to be safe I would get her to give the vets a quick ring.

I’ve just asked DH who is a vet. He said it would “probably” have been absorbed in that time frame. However, if there were still pieces of tablet in the vomit then no it hasn’t been absorbed.

Thanks for that. She is going to phone the vet tomorrow to be on the safe side (daughter not granddog).

FWIW, we are taking granddog to Anglesey for his hols in May (every dog should have a holiday). Yippe, dh, me and 2 dogs in a caravan. Bring it on.
