My 8m old border terrier was sick on Friday with one of these, and today all these in one sick.
Any ideas before I take him to the Vets tomorrow?

It looks like jelly babies?!?!?!?!

TroysMammy · 21/01/2018 16:46

I'd let the Vet decide. Hope it's nothing though but best to get him checked out.

BiteyShark · 21/01/2018 16:51

No idea from the picture. Is he ok in himself?

rightsaidfrederickII · 21/01/2018 16:51

Slightly decayed wood, perhaps? Particularly if he plays with / crunches sticks

whatatod0 · 21/01/2018 16:57

he has been to the vets a few times lately being lethargic/not himself, slight loss of appetite, and coughing. His weight is decreasing a little each week. He was seen by the vet on friday, and the vet wasn't bothered when I told her he'd sicked up a solid object. He's recently had a bloodiest for lungworm which was clear.
Could these be kidney or gall stones??

I think he's eaten something. Those bits look far too big to be anything else.

Thinkingofausername1 · 21/01/2018 17:01

Could he have chewed a stick and swallowed some??

BiteyShark · 21/01/2018 17:01

When mine was sick (repeatedly for a couple of days) they checked him out and found his stomach was tender and they were concerned about blockages etc especially as he was a young dog so may have eaten a foreign object so sent him for scans.

It has the texture of very compacted super hard mud. it breaks fairly easily but holds its shape. doesn't crumble if you know what i mean.

whatatod0 · 21/01/2018 17:04

sort of like a weak stone.

Could it be dried mud? I caught PestDog eating dried mud from my boots the other day, in preference to the kibble in his bowl Hmm Stranger things have been eaten by dogs

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/01/2018 18:34

Looks like wood to me

whatatod0 · 21/01/2018 19:16

I was worried it might be gall stones or something. I've consulted Dr Google, but still not sure. Hopefully it will be just some wood or mud like people have suggested.

Cat poo?
Gall stones are not sicked up. It has to be something he’s eaten.

Majuna · 21/01/2018 19:26

Put one in an old glass of warm water, see if it disintegrates & also leave it in there until the morning.

Nifflerbowtruckle · 21/01/2018 20:28

Do you give him hoof or horn to eat. My mil gave my dog a small piece of hoof to eat and she was sick bile randomly for 3 days until she finally brought up the hoof that hadn't digested at all.

whatatod0 · 21/01/2018 22:49

He’s recently had some beef tail. But that was after his first sick stone on Friday. Could also be bowel obstruction, as he used to eats his blankets before we confiscated them.

@Bedknobsandhoover oh could be cat poo. My dog is a bugger for that. Strange animals.....

BiteyShark · 22/01/2018 11:48

I think I would still be concerned as to why he's being sick especially as you said he has other symptoms such as losing weight.

BiteyShark · 22/01/2018 11:50

Sorry read Thinkingofausername1 update as the OPs.

OP any news at the vets?

whatatod0 · 22/01/2018 13:25

well, I took the stony things in to the vets this morning and they just looked at them and said it's probably something he's eaten, and keep an eye on him.
He was pretty spritely on his walk this morning. So hopefully nothing too wrong. He's back for a weigh-in in 3 weeks time.
