What does a day in life of your 9 (ish) months old pup look like?

Just wondering what an average day looks like for you and your older pup?

I am concerned that ours is utterly running the house!

If we go out she is perfectly happy in the kitchen. She is only left a couple of times a week for an hour or so. We are mainly at home all day (working)

So when we are home she likes to be with us. And doesn't like being in kitchen. But so much of the time wants attention or is climbing on stuff, trying to steal stuff and it's a battle of 'no. Off etc'

She is walked off lead fine so gets out. And gets training and playtime with our attention. But is a very active breed and doesn't tend to settle at home with us until about 9pm then sleeps. Is put to bed in kitchen about 10:30-11pm.

I possibly have unrealistic expectations of being able to get anything done with her here in the day. Or even some family time of playing a board game.

Mine is 9 months, has 2 walks a day morning and teatime, morning one she has a long run to wear her out..if it's cold or raining she never wants to go.she potters about at home,if she can pinch a bit of Lego or playmobile she will, but she's got a large selection of toys balks and chews so we do a lot of playing at home she's small enough to chase a ball down the hallway and bring it back .i spend a bit of time playing tug with her on which ever toy she brings me.she likes to be involved in our day and hates being shut out,but she's one of the family and we involve her as much as possible

Balls..not balks

Being totally honest - there were times when I seriously regretted getting our dog around that time.

He is a mongrel but we got him because he was half KC Cavalier and figured in our naivety that he would be mostly like one.

We didn’t take in the cockerpoo aspects. He’s pure poodle in energy needs and nearly impossible to tire out.

At 9 months he was put outside into our (big) garden for 30 mins where he ran about like a loon. We went to work, lunch time I went home and walked him and then again when we came back from work. He had the entire garden to himself. When we got home he stalked us. Play play play all the time. Constant everything.

Then he hit one and there was a slight improvement.

He’s now three and spends his days lying on the sofa watching the world go by, walked when we get back from work and he loves a lap. Sit for more than a second and he’s draped all over you.

One trick we learnt was to play fetch up and down the stairs - it tired him out so much quicker than normal fetch and we could stay dry!

Mine has about 10 different toys ,that she will happily play with by herself while I'm busy...sadly my kids do lover her,but arnt that keen on playing with her,so I do most of that too.we give her old slippers to play with as well.she has a turkey that makes a turkey noise, she loves that, that keeps her amused for some time

Mines a year old now, and she is exhausting. Even as a puppy she didn't sleep much. Her day starts at about 6.30, with a long walk in the morning and playing a lot of fetch and find the toy games indoors, interspersed with mad circuits of the garden and training sessions. We are retired so she has constant company. She is very fond of housework (wish she could do it) and finds vacuum cleaners fascinating. It's almost constant go until she collapses in a heap at around 9pm. She sleeps like a log though, never a peep at night. She's a toy poodle btw.

I have a 10 month old whippet. He usually goes to daycare twice a week but this week they’ve been closed did to Christmas. Oh boy is he a whirlwind at the moment!

I’ve been trying to take him for an off lead run every day but not sure it’s enough. Don’t want to do really long walks yet as he’s so young and some days are too hot at the moment (I’m in Australia).

I came home today with a whippet bouncing off the walls, babygate pushed over and then he showed me his new trick of jumping from floor to dining table in one leap Shock

Forgot to say his one saving grace is he happy to do lie ins Smile

We have a 9 month old mongrel bitch, who I call my shadow. She gets knocked/trod on several times a day as she likes to follow me round while I do the housework etc, even going to the toilet on my own is no longer allowed! She has a rug which she lays on in the front room to play with toys/bones, plus while I'm breast feeding we play with a tennis ball. Thankfully she is happy to snooze on the sofa during the afternoon as she starts to get tired.

Thanks all! Seems we aren't unique! As I try and type this I'm getting a paw bashed into me as I'm not stroking her!

She is utterly lovely and loved. But yes moments still of what the hell have we done. She does go to day care a couple of times a week but usually comes home hyped. I liken it to an over tired toddler.

Ours is 8 months and fine so long as you don’t leave anything in his reach. He sleeps A LOT. He likes to sleep right next to you and we get the ‘paw’ a lot too.

At the moment he’s playing with our older dog but he is a lazybones and I suspect older dog (he’s 2) would like more play.

I don’t always walk them in the morning if I’m working and if I do it’s on the lead - we have a decent size garden so they race round that but then we go for a long walk when I get in when he will bark at absolutely everything.

I do regret getting him. Older dog is absolutely lovely, an angel, never misbehaves, has never chewed anything, rarely barks. I’m sure things will get better in time but in retrospect I wouldn’t have got no 2.
