Hi I'm finally going to do it! I will be opening my own dog groomers after six years of working for another dog groomers. I've got two names..."the vip dog spa" or "get you'r groooom on or does anyone have any suggestions??? Would be appreciated thanks

Sorry I really don't like the second name and it would put me off using you if I was just looking around for a new groomer.

The first is ok but equally I find that something quite simple like 'icantthinkofanotherusername dog groomers' or 'dog groomers of placewhereyoulive' indicates to me what you do instantly and is professional. Boring I know but I often search about on google for companies any they would be the ones I would look at first.

Maybe insert place name into VIP dog Spa. I don't like the second either.
What kind of dog owners are you trying to attract ? What is your pricing structure and offerings like compared to your competitors? What do you want the name to say about you and your company?

OlennasWimple · 19/12/2017 02:50

I once saw one called "Doggy Style".... Shock

treaclesoda · 19/12/2017 03:19

Unlike previous posters, I love pun type names for dog groomers (although I'd certainly draw the line at 'doggy style' Shock). Pawfection, that sort of thing. Or something that is a play on words for where you are based.

Or anything that gets the word paws, tail or bark in there. Pampered Paws, Paws and Claws etc

I know they are cheesy but I think a dog groomers is the sort of business where you can afford to be a bit humorous.

I quite like Get Your Groooom on!

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 19/12/2017 03:52

Mobile groomer around here called “Beauty in the Beast”

HuskyMcClusky · 19/12/2017 04:36

There’s one near me called Blue Wheelers. Grin

You could do your business out in a signature blue colour. Retro powder-blue or something.

HuskyMcClusky · 19/12/2017 04:37

Also Park ‘n’ Bark.

You want something easy and fun to say, I reckon.

flumpybear · 19/12/2017 05:15

Posh paws? For those who remember the dinosaur from Swap Shop days Wink

MrsFoxPlus4 · 19/12/2017 05:37

My husband said “no fleas please” 😂🙄

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I wonder if I can ask a question? We are hoping to get our, first ever dog, in January. She Is a Terrier x Pattie and is about 8. Can you tell me whether she will need to go regularly to a groomer and what for? I was going to ask the Rescue Centre but thought I might look like an idiot.

Floralnomad · 19/12/2017 09:29

pansy , it’s personal preference , I have a patterdale x JRT and I have him clipped every 5 weeks and he goes back to the groomers for a bath in between clips but that’s because I find it easier to have a very short haired dog as he likes wallowing in muddy puddles and rolling in crap . I know other people with patterdale that have never been to a groomers . Back to the OP , I don’t like the second name but I’m not sure how important a name is , reputation is the thing . The groomers we use is called ‘Hair of the Dog ‘

Tinselistacky · 19/12/2017 09:33

Love snip Doggy Dog!

Elphame · 19/12/2017 10:25

Are you going to have a website? If so then this may have a bearing on your business name as you'll want them to match to help people find you.

I don't like the second name either!
