Dog snow shoes?

I'm wondering if I should buy some shoes for ddog for walks in the snow and ice? I've heard that the grit that is spread can be harmful to them too.

There are so many on the market, at wildly differing prices (just found some at £114!) and I'm feeling a bit lost. Ddog is massive so am expecting his size to cost more anyway.

Are they necessary, do you use them, and if so how much did you pay for them please?

You can buy ( or make) paw wax to protect their pads from the salt & grit.
I don’t think their paws get cold the way our feet do though.

Ooh I'm off to google paw wax now, thanks!

We give his feet a quick wash when he comes in after walking over grit. I have never seen dogs with shoes unless it’s protecting one foot with an injury.

My dog is prone to pad injuries so he’s quite after sporting a protective boot on one foot - he hates them so I think my chances of getting them on al four paws at the same time would be minimal... we’ve tried a few styles and the majority fall off in minutes but these ones do the job when needed

We use paw wax in winter as a preventative measure too
