What do I need for our Puppy?

Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to help me out as to what I would need for a new puppy.
I have no real experience with puppies but a little with dogs. I wasn't planning on having a dog but will be getting this puppy in January and I'm thrilled with how it's turned out. I want this home to be it's forever home and have some money set aside to buy the necessary equipment. I also have a 2 yr old DS and a 7yr old DD who both love animals and have been around dogs but I'd also like some tips on some dog only spaces in the house as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

JRTs are fab dogs. Wouldn’t have anything else now. Highly intelligent and endlessly entertaining.

Mine’s the best dog I’ve ever had. Learns new stuff in a couple of sessions. Easily motivated. Fantastic recall. I can drop him in the middle of a chase. Loves people, children and other animals. Great little fella 😁

Lola this isn't a breed. It's a cross.

I would get a crate and make it into a cozy den as a puppy/dog only area. Puppies need a lot of sleep and to not be disturbed when they do. My mum is a breeder and once sold a pup to a family with 3 kids, the parents did not listen to my mothers cautions and the children were allowed to destroy a beautiful little boy that I helped raise. He was super sweet, think the boxer from homeward bound sweet. Ended up with him being pts as he was so traumatized and resorted to biting after months of the children doing whatever they wanted. We found out when it was too late. Point is, treat the puppy as a baby that needs its rest, some play time, some food and cuddles and into its den for naps. Have clear rules and routines, and have the crate near the toilet(door) exit as toilet is needed after naps and meals. My mum covers her crates with blankets, there is chewing bones and soft blankets in there. Also ask if the breeder can send something that is familiar with the pup so it can settle down quicker. Some do, some don't.

Of course it's not a cross it's a jackahuahua Grin

A Jack Russell x Chihuahua is a crossbreed. With a fancy name tagged for sales.

Quite. I point blank refuse to refer to pest dog by his fancy portmanteau that he could be called. He's a cross. A lovely cross (usually!) but he's not a new fangled breed.

The dog owner has someone else lined up for the Puppy. Looks like we aren't needed after all. It is probably for the best. I don't know as much as I should to have a dog.
Sad

I didn't mean to offend previous posters by referring to her as an it.
