Pet insurance - am I covered *panic*

Hi
We bought a beagle puppy at the end of August. She is now 4 months old and a lovely dog. When we took her to the vets for her first lot of injections she had a UTI and was put on antibiotics (was insured with kennel club insurance - free trial we didn't claim.) vet explained that it was quite normal to have a puppy with UTIs. Now 6 weeks later she has another UTI that isn't clearing up with anti biotics, so is going back to the vet again today (3rd time) and is likely going to have some costly investigations. I am now in a complete panic that she won't be covered under insurance as she has had a UTI before we insured with our current insurer. I didn't tell them as we believed it was a one of and not a reoccurring problem and we hadn't claimed. Please tell me I am worrying about nothing

When I had to claim (was pet plan) they asked for a compete history from my vets so in your situation this would show up as a preexisting thing. Whether they would view it as a pre existing condition and not pay I have no idea as we fortunately didn't have any problems prior to the insurance kicking in.

I think it will depend on the type of information the vets give to the insurers e.g whether they view it as pre existing or 'connected' condition. If your vets deal with your insurer frequently they may be able to put your mind at rest to how they would view it.

In my experience that would be considered as a pre-existing condition. Out of interest who is your policy with now?

I would also put money on it being refused as it was noted on history before you took out the policy, sorry Op.

I've been working in vets for a long time and I'm 99% sure this would be classed as a pre-exsisting condition and therefore wouldn't be covered Sad
