PenisDog died. And my other dog too, all in just 4 weeks.

I'm bereft.
I had no idea how totally intertwined they were with every art of my day. Huge hole in our house now.

So sorry for all who have lost a DDog. I’m not sure how I will cope when my girl goes.

We have 2 cats and a dog, I live in permanent denial that they will one die

Pag, you'll always miss them both. Indelible paw shaped holes in your life. When you are ready though, there'll be room for another canine family member.
I still miss my old girl, and she died 4th November 2010. Still get weepy.

We lost our two within 3 weeks before Xmas in Nov/Dec last year. I was reeling.
The rawness fades but, even though we've got two more loons now, I miss them every day.
I'm so sorry Pag, such bad luck to lose them so close. What happened?

Oh Pag , I'm really sorry .

We lost one of our lovely hounds some years ago, and even now , I forget he's not there , and throw my toast crusts for him to catch ( he was like a shark for crusts - bad for him I know) , only for them to bounce off the nose of New Dog , who doesn't get it . I miss him still .

How awful for you. I still mourn all my creatures and feel I've lost another little part of me when they've gone. My Rottie is nearly 11 and I am dreading losing him. I have to consciously stop that dread spoiling the time I have left with him.

I'm dreading the day. I came home last week and my girl didn't rush to the door (v v unusual). I had an absolute sick, heart-thumping feeling - like when you lose a toddler briefly in a crowded place.

Turned out she was just stalking a cat , but it was a premonition of what's to come.

We love them so much. for you.

so sorry - it does hurt and leaves such emptiness in your life that only a dog can ever fill. I lost my beloved 'lurch' 11 weeks ago and I miss him so much every day. He was my constant companion and friend - that can never be replaced.
I know this feeling of loss will last for months until I find another rescue dog to fill the dog-shaped hole in my life.
To lose both your dogs so close together must be devastating for you

They break our hearts, losing two so very close together I can't even imagine.

So sorry Pag. ❤️ We lost our old spaniel nearly three years ago. He was an absolute star. Coming home to an empty house every day after I’d taken the kids to school was just hideous, that was when we’d head off for our walk. Within five months we had a Labrador. Couldn’t be without a dog in the house. He’s a hairy monster with a tail of doom but he’s our monster. Hope you’re ok.

So sorry its a massive loss isn't it. I know people say it is the price we pay but it sometimes feels like a very high price indeed.
To all the dogs we have loved and lost, may they be forever in our hearts .

I'm so sorry Pag - it is awful isn't it.
It's almost 3 years since we lost our last girl and I still miss her. Even though we still have our much loved old rescue and new poodle, there's still a hole in my heart for the feisty, bolshy, infuriating and wonderful old girl we lost.

I am so grateful to you all for replying. I'm so incredibly sad and it is a comfort to be here, with people who know what it feels like xxx
