Hi, me again! My pup, Trigger, is almost 16 weeks. Doing really well with training, but past few days we've had this problem.
When hubby comes home from work Trigger is so excited to see him, and he gets a fuss... Great. Then a couple of hours later he will start growling at hubby, then barking, then he jumps up and jumps on him trying to bite his head!
It's bizarre behaviour.
I know I'm the main carer for trigger, but I've had hubby give him treats, get him to sit, give paw etc before treats. Tonight I got him to groom Trigger whilst giving treats, all fine, then he did it again! Hubby went for a shower and when he came back down Trigger was really happy to see him again, all tail wagging and round him. It's weird.
This is really upsetting for me, can anyone give any insights into this and what we can do to sort it?

Sounds like your pups version of the evening zoomies, overtired, over aroused and in need of a snooze. Perhaps look at an extra nap time or a puppy kong or chew to calm him in the evening.
I would tackle the jumping up by standing still and ignoring until he has calmed down and stopped and removing him from the room when he starts at your husband. No shouting, firm, calm....and very consistent so he learns that unacceptable biting etc gets him nowhere. Make sure all family members do the same and ignore pup, then let him back in room with you and repeat if necessary. Good idea to get husband involved but maybe start with food giving rather than grooming.
You could join the puppy thread, lots of new owners on there at the moment and lots of support to be had. Someone may even be tackling the same issue! Good luck

Thanks. He also does the zoomies! We do time out when it gets too much, we do ignore, stand/sit still, doesn't work. Given chews. Which sometimes works but he'd rather growl and bark at hubby and try to get at him!
I will look again at the puppy thread, thanks.
