can a dog be deterred from going on grass?

The covenants of our estate mean we can't enclose our front garden which is currently lawn like the rest of the street.
My toddler is now walking and loves being outside and on the grass. Unfortunately the local dogs have decided our corner of grass is their toilet for poos and wees.
Is there anything i can put down that will deter them and encourage them to find a different spot but will not kill the grass. My brain is telling me Jeyes fluid that my mum used to use but that was on paths and am not sure if I chuck a load of that down that it will kill the grass.
Thanks

Local dogs are on leads surely? Their owners should be keeping them off your lawn. Do you have a back garden toddler can safely use?

Pretty sure Jeyes fluid will kill your grass.
It is down the the owners unfortunately.
Are you allowed to put up any kind of temporary type stake & chain fencing or grow a hedge?

The ones we see in the day are on leads wolfiefan - but the owners don't stop them from weeing and pooing - daytime poos are bagged up when i watch them from the window although I've gone and looked and theres definitely residue. At night they have been left for us to clear up.
We can't enclose as its against the rules of estate. Some gardens have put borders of flowers in but I don't want to give myself a further gardening job on top of keeping the lawn mowed. I'm guessing then there isn't a hideous smelling product that dogs hate which I can buy and put down but won't kill the grass?

I don't think so.

I would put a flower border in with some small low maintenance bush type things that can make a miniature hedge along the front (people did it where I used to live and there were the same rules as you've got)

There's a product called "Get off" which you can spread around. Available at most DIY shops I think. We used it copiously in the borders as the local cats were poohing there all the time. I think it works for dogs as well.

Although I try and dissuade people from using amazon but this is the first link I found.

That's horrible of people. We have houses the same round by where we live and I don't even let my dog walk on the grass - it's not that difficult to keep the dog on the other side for goodness sake. I'm sorry for you - it's horrible.
