Wet food for a small dog

I'm feeding my new dog (adopted her from a family who couldn't keep her any more) Burns dried and Cesar wet food. She was just fed on Pedigree Wet before, but all dogs I've ever known have had at least some dry food, so it feels weird to just feed her wet. Is Cesar ok? Or is it like McDonalds for dogs? Thanks!

Mine have burns & nature diet wet food. I think Cesar is better than pedigree but probably not much! Have a look on allaboutdogfood.com and get the best you can affordSmile

Wet food is not good for a little dog's teeth.

Congratulations on your new dog Smile

Cesar is a low quality wet food I'm afraid as is pedigree, some higher quality ones I would recommend are Wainwrights grain free (easily available from pets at home) or for supermarket then Lily's Kitchen is fab. It's fine to feed a dog just wet food if you want and it's good high quality one. The only real way to guarantee clean teeth is by cleaning them yourself. But playing with toys and giving certain treats helps clean them. I feed my dogs dry food but they get wet a few times a week for variety. I second checking out the all about dog food website, it's easy to compare brands.

Another vote for allaboutdogfood.co.uk. The nice thing about it is you can put in details about your dog and get an idea of how much per day it will cost for each food. High quality doesn't always mean high price.

Cesar isn't great quality at all :(

I feed mainly dry food but if they're getting a treat of wet food they get Naturo or Nature's Diet!

My JRT has Lily's Kitchen wet food - after going through several other makes (wainwrights, naturdiet etc)) which he ate for several weeks then randomly decided he didn't like any more. He also has some high quality mini bone shaped biscuits (they are something like Kanine kitchen) which we put into his treat dispensers.

Thanks everyone! Forthglade looks like a good choice :-) Now I just need to train her to use a dog potty type thing - anyone got any advice there?!
