Our first family dog was a beardy scruffy lurcher he was the sweetest old boy we didn't have him long but he stole my heart he was the best

Oh, just oh. What an adorable boy. No one has told him sight hounds don't like water then . Failed foster on the cards or are you tougher than me? I'd be hopeless. One day I will have a house with acres of land and live in sighthound hair covered fleece and a bum bag full of dog treats. It will truly be a great time to be alive.

No, he can't stay MrSlant! He needs to find a lovely active family (not madly active, but he's not a total couch potato) who can occupy his brain in a useful way.
His failing so far is shouting at the chickens. OTOH, he returns on recall faster than my other dogs, and when he fetches the ball it actually lands on your feet and without a victory lap

He can fetch a ball? He is obviously MAT standard for a sighthound then. I gave up with my whippets when it became obvious they were trying to exercise me instead by collecting the ball then leaving it as far away as possible for me to go and recover . ignores fact that we are an active family and he is gorgeous
