Dog in training

Has anyone used a 'dog in training' vest? I was thinking of perhaps getting one for me to wear when I am out and about so that people understand why I move my dog to the side and why I don't want to 'socialise my dog with theirs'.

Looks like you can get a high viz vest with the words 'please keep away dog in training'. Wondering if that would help or not. Anyone tried something like this?

There's another system used - tying a coloured ribbon to the lead.

Red = please stay away, not a friendly dog
Yellow = OK to approach...sometimes
And
Green = super friendly dog.

In training vest is probably also a good idea for those too far away to see the coloured ribbon (I think it's a ribbon!).

There are harnesses and leads in different colours that say things like 'in training' and 'caution' as well. I think it's not a bad idea. Following numerous incidents in the park where the other owner really should have known better I have basically come to the conclusion that I can never overestimate just how stupid other dog owners can be . So making it stark raving clear you don't want others to approach is probably the way to go!

I had seen those that can be put on leads but figured you would have to be quite close to me to read them.

Think I might order the vest and give it a go and see if it makes any difference.

Not sure about the ribbons as I suspect most people would have no idea of the meaning behind the colours, I certainly didn't know, although I've heard about yellow ribbons.

Seen quite a few dogs with 'in training' vests on. Think it's a good idea.
