Dodgy tummy on antibiotics - what helps?

My dog is on antibiotics for a week after getting a nasty infection on his carpal pad. He's getting much better but he seems to have developed an upset stomach as his poos which are normally very firm and dark brown and easy to pick up are now horribly sloppy and stink to high heaven...

I'm assuming it's the antibiotics as his diet is the same as normal. Is there anything I can give him which might help?

A friend with a dodgy tummied Lab recommends Dorwest tree bark powder. I've not tried it but I do use Canigest for a day or two when my doggie is a bit loose.

For kids I use probiotics if they're on antibiotics, maybe there's a dog version?

Protexin Pro-Kolin. Known as "magic goo" in this house Grin

I always give it to mine if they have antibiotics or a GA (which I find also tends to upset their stomachs a bit), works like a charm every time.

YumPro probiotics from Amazon. I always have them in for sorting a document tummy

Document = dodgy

Phone your vet and explain the side effects. They should be able to give you something for the diarrhoea or a different antibiotic.
