Collar indoors or not?

I'm in two minds about this. I like the idea of our puppy being collar free in the house, more comfortable for him, safer perhaps? However, over the last few years I have had two dogs turn up on our doorstep, one had a collar with a tag and a quick phone call reunited her with her owner and the other had nothing and it took a good few hours and phone calls to vets, dog warden etc before his owner was finally found. Also, this was some time ago and I suppose micro chipping is becoming much more common. What do you do/think?

airlock.....just two doors between the inside and outside that are never opened at the same time.

my dogfaces don't wear collars.

definitely no collars in crates though, very unsafe.

Our dog always wears his collar because he doesn't like being bare naked Grin If he's had it off to be groomed or bathed, he rushes to get it put back on again. We forgot to put it on one day last week and he was quite anxious when I realised in the morning and all but knocked it out of my hands as I was putting it back on. We swear by the Ezedog range - we just love them.

No collar here- she's got quite delicate fur so it would leave a flattened mark. She is about the size of a rabbit so we just scoop her up if the doorbell rings. She was a rescue and consequently is an absolute Velcro dog - she even follows me to the loo - so we don't really need to worry about her running away.

Mine only has his collar on when he's out - he gave himself a nasty skin infection last summer from scratching where his collar was so we decided he could be naked at home. He swims most days too so his collar needs to dry out otherwise it gets very manky... he's not a bolter or a wanderer though!

Always on with a tag, just in case. Rolled leather collars IMO are best for not breaking hairs.

None on mine, microchipped and if he was to run anywhere it would be home for his dinner lol. If we take somewhere else would put collar on

We take the collars off after their last walk at night, so they're ready for bed and we put them back on when we get up in the morning.

My dog has an anxiety attack if we take his collar off. I think he feels undressed without it.

Our dogs wear collars all the time except when they have to be cleaned. The younger one doesn't mind having it off or on but the older one gets anxious if her collar comes off and can't relax properly until it is returned to it's rightful place.

We use harnesses when out and nothing when in.

Arriety, my uncle had a dog that acted ashamed without some sort of collar, he had a range of neckerchiefs that he was so proud to wear!

All times here except when having a bath. She actually paws at her neck and stares at us if we leave it off too long.
