How often do you wash your dogs paws? Or do you not need to? Silly questions

We are thinking of buying a dog next year for Christmas. We both grew up with dogs, but not in this country. We literally live next to a huge grassy dog park...but because it rains so much it gets muddy etc. We know all the work a dog entails and I walk through this park for the school run and spend at least 2-3 hours a day walking normally anyway...so adding a dog into that mix will be fine :) My only concern bc dogs don't wear shoes and london streets and parks can be dirty (I grew up in suburbs in the US and sidewalks were CLEAN). Anyway, do dog owners have to rinse their feet every time they bring them back in the house? I want to keep my house clean from mud etc. I have two young kids so I am used to mess...but not sure what to do with the dogs muddy paws since it rains a lot here.

What do you do? And please only helpful responses....I know its a silly question. Thanks!

You'll find a quick wipe with a towel when you get back will be enough if the paws are very dirty :)

Teach the dog to wipe its paws on a mat seriously I've seen it done!

We used to wipe with a towel.

I tend to wash mine after every walk in the winter, but he's a cocker spaniel and gets a lot of mud/dirt in between his paws. If you don't wash them, he then spends hours chivelling all of it out and drives you absolutely bonkers. It's a no brainer. I miss the summer

and how do u wash? do u take inside and wash paws in sink w soap? wish it didn't get so flipping muddy here!

We have stone floor. The mud sweeps up when it dries.

Most of the time a quick wipe with a towel is enough to clean my dogs' paws. I only tend to wash them in winter when there's grit down where we've been walking.

When I do was them I just fill a bucket with warm water and each paw gets a quick rub with dog shampoo and a dip to rinse it. I do it just outside the back door so the kitchen doesn't get too wet.

If they're really filthy they just get carried upstairs one at a time and dumped in the bath for a proper wash.

I don't clean them at all.
We have wooden floors and I just clean them most days

Oh dear you wouldn't like it in my house...
Too many dogs, constantly covered in mud ( not just the paws) but underfloor heating which dries it off so I can hoover it up.
If they are really bad they get a hose down outside and put in a doggy drying bag or fleece jacket.,

Doggy towels. Lots of them. Or if it's too bad, into the shower.

I only clean them when they roll on fox poo. Used to bath them in the flat, now a hose outside, bit of dog shampoo and rinse. They hate both ways. If muddy I just towel it off.

J cloth dipped in warm water, drop of baby shampoo. Warm water in flask, then plastic jug, both placed ready outside door. Stand on one towel, rub down with another. He knows the routine, loves it.

Also they don't walking in dirt from the pavement that you notice at least. You can keep a mat or towel by the front door for them to walk on when they come in though if it has been raining

You can get dog wipes from poundland for cleaning mucky paws and legs. My two love them and try to eat them.

For normal wet/slightly muddy paws my spaniel has been taught to circle on a towel which dries/gets the majority of mud off. For his usual very muddy paws he's washed off after every walk- including the feathering up all legs and his 'under carriage' he's a stinky full show coated entire boy.

I wash my puppy's feet- either a proper wash for each paw using puppy shampoo and an old ice cream tub, or just a wrote with a doggy towel. Still have to clean the floors at least every other day, but some of that is down to hairs rather than mud.
