As today ddog had an operation on his ear to get rid of an aural haematoma. He had previously had it drained a week or so ago but it came back Sad so he had the big operation. He has stitches in his ear and has to keep them in for a month this time Shock so needs the lampshade for the duration. My question is while the lampshade he has on just now is a buster collar would the big chunky buster collar do the same job as aforementioned plastic one or do i need to keep the plastic one on? Its a pita already with him getting stuck on things. Here is my poor boy modelling his new addition

I think as it's an ear the lampshade is more to stop him rubbing the stitches out rather than reach down to lick/ worry himself so I'm not sure the chunky one would do what it needs to? Would the chunky one stop scratching himself with his back foot too?

Im presuming it would stop that also. I may ask the vet when hes got his appointment on friday just if it makes it a bit easier for him to move it would be a bonus but at the same time i dont want him doing serious damage to his ear

can he wear the bulky one when someone is supervising?

The vet said that he was to wear the collar in the house so i thought if he had the ring one it would be better for him as he is getting caught on the couches when hes moving.
