We have a gorgeous 11 month old cockapoo who was spayed at 6 months.
Where we live she has her little gang of "mates" that all meet up and have a whale of a time all off lead and all get on really well.
The only thing is, the males all seem to "fancy" her and have a good old sniff of her. They sniff her bottom and she even obligingly cocks her leg for them (the shame!) or she'll roll on her back and let them sniff her bits.
One dog even keeps trying to mount her.

She recently had her anal glands checked by the vet, so they're ok.

Is this usual, or is it because she is young or is she giving off "come and get me" signals.

I'd be interested if anyone elses dog is such a hussy!

We often meet dogs that lie down, roll over and spread their legs Shock when they meet my two male dogs (who always make the most of the opportunity and have a good sniff).
I don't think it's anything sexual, just a way of showing she's friendly and not a threat.

Do you know if it's just females that do this then?

My dog is obviously showing them that she's VERY friendly then!

Thanks for you reply.

I think she is just being friendly and submissive showing no threat really, my sisters male dog is a bit of a tart and will let everything sniff him out whereas my dog takes offence at it.

It's not a sexual thing it's submission, you just have a submissive, happy go lucky girl from the sounds of it :) FWIW, I have a male dog exactly like this. He's a basset hound and literally hurls himself on his back wagging his tail in a very "come hither" way when we see another dog. Other dog usually commences sniffing and then they jolly off together for a good run around.

He also gets mounted by loads of other male dogs. They seem to target him. We regularly go on walks with 10-20 other basset hounds (called basset waddles) and he's always humped by someone. He tollerates it usually but there's a couple of dogs he has a snap at. Nothing nasty, just a "gerroff" as if he's trying to assert himself.... which is laughable because his angry face looks like a scrotum frowning Blush

PIC: The one i'm talking about is the one on the left. The other is our rescue who mostly spends time with other dogs trying to roll them over and barking. Lots.

D'Aww Basset waddles Grin

Some dogs are just more submissive than others, its a good tactic to prevent aggression. I've never seen a Rottweiller, GSD or similar do it but seems to be fairly common behaviour in cockapoos and other smallish dogs of both sexes.
