Anyone got a Scottish Terrier? Can you tell me about them please :)

Have googled obviously but would be interested in personal experiences of this breed.

I'm an experienced dog owner - small dogs only though, Jack Russell and miniature schnauzer in the past, had my schnauzer from 8 weeks old until he went at age 15

I know two of them. They both bark a lot which I'm not keen on but it wouldn't completely put me off a breed. They need regular grooming. But they are very loyal. They are brilliant with my kids. They get attention wherever they go because you don't really see a lot of them around now a days so a walk can take a while. Also compared to my dog they can be quite independent and feisty but in a nice way!

I would have one but they cause allergic reaction in a family member so couldn't risk it. And the yapping does get on my nerves a little bit to be honest. But they are lovely dogs with great little characters.
