Ndn, feckless witch has a gsd x has never taken him out in the three years I've lived here, I started taking him out about a year ago, as often as I can, not always possible, with other commitments, or her being out so I can't get him, but mostly.

She gives not one shit about this beautiful dog, I've had it. His skin and fur were a wreck, I bought him flea stuff, and cut all his mats out, and brush him after every walk.

He goes crazy when anyone walks past the house, until he's had a walk, then he's quiet. Tonight though (he's been alone ALL DAY) I watched until she came home, then took him out for an hour, soon as I took him back, she went out. Now he's barking incessantly, howling as well, has been for hours!? No one's around, he sounds so distressed!

Do you think he's got no water or something? It's breaking my heart to listen to :(

Sorry about the epic post, I just want to help him.

What a horrible situation - that poor dog! I'm not sure what you can do. The RSPCA are a load of useless tossers, and short of offering to babysit him (in your home or hers) when she goes out for long periods, I think you might have to just tolerate it as long as she lets you walk him.

She could end up getting complaints from other neighbours though if he continues to make a racket.

I don't know why some people get a dog - or any other animal for that matter - when they obviously can't be bothered to look after them.

I swear if she comes back tonight I'm having her (not physically, but, you never know) my blood is boiling.

If I didn't have a dog, I'd take him, and she'd probably let me, but my dog would hate it, so I can't. But she's out so often going over hers midden every time would be impossible.

She also throws her 10 year old daughter out to roam whenever one of her boyfriends comes round, she comes to us, to play with our kids, or have tea, never gets called in, just wanders around until the car goes.

I've had it, I've never said anything to her, we barely talk, but tonight I'm livid, he's STILL barking! (The daughter's at her Nan's tonight)

The adjoining neighbours to hers have 3 boys, one is 3! How they don't complain I don't know.

But then, if she just tells me to fuck off, I won't even be able to walk him :(

That's the danger. For the dog's sake you can't afford to piss her off too much.

OP, you sound like a kind dog lover: this must be so upsetting for you.
As you're not in a position to take on the dog as your own, could you offer to help the NDN to rehome him, either with a dog rescue organisation, or with someone you know yourself.
NDN sounds like she wouldn't care if the dog was there or not.
You could be pleasant with her ( "he's a lot of work and expense for you, etc").
You seem to be the only person who cares about this poor boy.

BastardGoDarkly · 02/09/2016 15:05

I've calmed down since the other night Grin
I think she would rehome him, but her daughter adores him. I told her about the other night, she just looked bewildered and said... Oh there was sick on the floor when I came in?! he seemed ok when I've taken him the last 2 nights, so I guess we'll just continue.
Thanks for letting me rant :)

Well, just keep on doing your best for him, OP.
At least he's got you in his life to care about him.
As a PP said, you don't want to alienate the NDN.
