Best way to deflea when frontline hasn't worked?

Both dogs were dripped with frontline two weeks ago, one dog is still scratching.
What would be the best thing to use?

We use advantage on our cats because frontline stopped working, but can I use it so soon after using frontline?

We had a bit of an infestation a couple of years ago, despite using Frontline on the dog (and DS not hoovering the house when we were away on holiday).

We switched to Advocate and all well so far. The cat is on Advocate and never had a problem.

Frontline utterly stopped working on my last dog, so I haven't bothered with it again.

Our dog is on the Vets 4 Pets scheme where for a monthly fee she gets flea'd, wormed and her annual injections. I forget the drug they use but it's absolutely effective.

Frontline is a waste of money. It worked 20 years ago. But no longer. I think the manufacturers are in denial about it but a quick Google reveals many dog owners have noticed the same thing.

Incidentally,, to the poster upthread saying Frontline works but users are using it 'wrongly' - how do you explain the fact it worked for many people's pets, for many years then - used in precisely the same way with all the other protocol in place (hoovering etc) it stopped working? Did almost everyone using it suddenly have the same brain fart?

The vet nurse I saw explained why frontline isn't working.
She said there are two types, the sort you can buy from supermarkets and pet shops, which she described as frontline lite, which most people buy as it's cheaper, then the vet version, which she said deals with the environment too, so you don't get the repeat infestations that you do with the other frontline.
When there's a bad flea year, it will look like frontline doesn't work.

Pig I always got my Frontline from the vet ...so quite frankly that isn't true. Possibly they have an undated version now - but the one I had was supposed to disrupt the life cycle and deal with the environment too...
In the midst of my problems the vet nurse told me the reason I was finding fleas on my cat with a flea comb was they were dying ones - the frontline was killing them - to quote - you would never catch a healthy flea with a flea comb.
Funny then how I catch them (when she has them) on my completely untreated cat Confused - or that is (or was at least) the recommended way to treat fleas on pregnant/nursing cats and kittens for years...

Pig another one who got the Frontline from the vet's and it stopped working. Simply stopped. Had no effect. It worked 20 years ago. It worked 10 years ago. It doesn't work, now.

Rather than spend money denying it, the company concerned should re-develop and come out with a new product. Until they do, I'm sticking with whatever it is my dog's vet now uses as... that works.
