I've got to make budget cuts, is there a decent inexpensive dog food I can switch to?

My dogs are on Pets at home brand Wainwrights which costs just under £50 for a big bag which lasts about a month. I was told it's basically the same as James Welbeloved but cheaper.

I know some dog foods are very much cheaper but also very poor quality, if you were me what would you move the dogs onto? Any saving would be great.

We use Dr John's silver. It is £10.49 a large sack from our local farm. I've got two whippets, one with a delicate stomach. Both dogs are fine on this food, firm poos, no upsets and healthy coats.

My vet always recommends Chappie (cans not dry) It's cheap and most dogs do well on it.

Some of the dogs at our local Dogs Trust branch have Chappie: it's good for delicate tums.
Every so often, I buy some in Asda to drop off for them: it's 2 packs of 6 for £6, so 50p per tin.

My dog very happy on tails.com - first bag was one solitary pound incl. P&P. Can't argue with that!
