puppy sleeping to a reasonable hour

We've had our new pup for 2 weeks and she's amazing on all ways. She goes into her crate at night with minimum fuss, usually at about 11, and stirs at about 5. No mess in the crate, goes straight out for a widdle, and then needs to go mad for half an hour or so. It's all good, but 5 in the morning is killing me, especially as I've been working evening shifts so I can be home in the day for her. So, my question is, when can I expect her to hold on for another hour or thereabouts? My dh is doing a lot of it, but then he's ending up in bed before I get home from work. I do realise I'm probably being very unreasonable as she's only a baby.

She is only a baby. But I'd be discouraging play at that time. Can you put her back in crate right away? Let her out for wee but don't give her too much interaction. Don't speak too much to her and put calmly back in crate. She might whine but she will get the idea eventually that she doesn't get up until you do. Also when they can go through the night they don't get up for the sake of it, if it's just boring and there's no point.

But they will be up if they think there will be fun/cuddles.

I have done, but she gets really whiny and howls. She settles for a bit, but then starts on the noise. I'll try and be a bit tougher. Dh is away for a week soon, and I'd really like it sorted by then. Either way, it's better than the 1.00 and 3.00am pees our ancient Scottie needed in his last year.

For clarification, we're not playing with her. She goes absolutely mental running up and down the garden. I am not capable of any sort of play at that time. I suspect I may need to train dh though.

For 'night' wees I always put dpup on a lead so there was no fun, no eye contact and no speaking. Gun dog lead so no faffing with collar. Slip lead over head before allowing out of crate, walk quietly to door take out, 'toilet' command, as soon as wees straight back inside and in the crate. I then put some kind of quiet noise (white noise or radio on quietly). Then ignore until at least 7! Dpup has slept 10-7ish since 8 1/2 weeks.

First day she woke at 4.30, took her out for a pee, all nice and quiet, straight back in crate. Lovely, until she started whining half an hour later, I ignored her for a bit until it got too much. She then did a huge poo. So next time the whining is amping up I may not hold off for so long. This morning all was calm, but dh had to get up at 530 anyway, but she wasn't whining when he went down, just sat up waiting.

Sloppy, she's a Spinone. Naps for most of the day, and appears to have grown an inch every time she wakes up!
