in the park earlier walking my three quiet gentle dogs on leads

another large, vicous dog not on a lead came for us - I kept as far away as I could owner was on her phone did not notice

he attacked my dog - my other two dogs went for him
big scuffle

girl on phone who owns the dog came over shouting and roarin that this was all my fault

im so upset and angry
worried she will now report me
my dogs are always on the lead as I worry they will run off

It sounds as though her dog needs a muzzle - coming up to your dog and biting it on the neck.

I think that as your dogs were on leads, it will be the other dog officially considered not to be under control - other posters have said this and it came up in another thread quite recently.

I do think you should report the other dog, as then there will be a record of how it behaves should it do something like this again. It sounds as though the owner is rather careless as it would be odd if this behaviour was a one off: why did it suddenly want to bite your dog, if it isn't naturally rather aggressive, and you were not in it's path it was trying to protect?

What sort of dog was it? What are yours and are they boys? Neutered? etc
Just trying to imagine possible dog motives.

Poor you. It sounds a really nasty incident.

all my three are neutured

hers was a cross bread (possibly staffie and something else)

i have border collies and a black lab they are farm dogs and are gently being socialised here
they always walk away from other dogs as they are nervous
i saw him leave the grassy area and come for us so I hid them behind a tree I could nt stop it nor could I get the owners attention for around 3 minutes she was on her phone with headphones in

shocking
she should not have a dog the way she acts
in her eyes it was ALL MY FAULT

I think you should report her and her dog dubling as something may happen again.

What is especially worrying is that you and your dogs were behind the tree. I know sometimes dogs try to guard a path they are on, so if they had met face to face on a path one could see how it might happen even though of course it still would not be your fault.

Also, your dogs were neutered males so no threat.

Then the staffie actually attacked with a neck bite not just a growl, hackles up warning.

So this staffie sounds odd and extra aggressive. There was a rogue staffie the other day who bit lots of children. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-36330540

The fact that the woman blames you under the circumstances shows she is a blamer type, nothing more. If so she may not take care in the future.
