I think my old girl is on her way out

Last night she seemed very poorly, unwilling to walk and generally withdrawn.

This morning I came down to find she'd been sick in her basket and had weed herself. I encouraged her out to the back garden, she staghered badly getting out there. Then she had some nasty diarrhoea.

She's now lying on her (clean) cushion, asleep. Taking her to the vets at 9. She's 14 in August. I think she may be on her way out Sad. My poor, lovely old girl.

Oh I am so sorry . We had to make a similar decision just after Christmas , and it was devastating for us all . If there can be any consolation at all , she was obviously such a well loved dog , because you cared enough to do what was right for her , rather than what might have made you feel better . Be gentle with yourself .

So sorry for your loss. You did absolutely the right thing at the right time. It's such a hard decision to make but you did the best thing for your lovely girl. I had to take a similar decision with my elderly springer a year ago so I know just how it feels.
