Kong ideas?

I have a very energetic 10 month old border terrier. He gets a big walk every morning, and I work from home so I'm always around.

He's needing a lot of mental stimulation at the moment. He likes a puzzle ball and a kong then more games with me in the early evening.

I think I must be doing something wrong with the Kong as it doesn't take him long to either empty it or loose interest. Any ideas on fillings?

I've tried -

Cream cheese - he likes this but gets through it really quickly and then he doesn't bother to get treats out of the bottom that are stuck!

Peanut butter - he doesn't like this at all.

Pate - adores this but licks through very quickly.

I've squashed treats in but he gets them out really easily. I haven't tried freezing anything yet. Is this the trick?

How about chicken stock? You plug the end with a treat and pour in stock, stand in a cup and freeze.

And yes, freezing really is the secret to making it last!

Freezing it is then! Thanks. Chicken stock is a good idea.

Also, try marmite - it's much harder for them to get out than cream cheese....

We stuff dried chicken strips through the top hole (petshop does the same strips in rabbit too).

I do layers - wet food, kibble, wet food. I'm trying to make food fun for mine rather than pure entertainment but it has captured his interest for long enough. I think if I froze it he would lose interest too quickly and then maybe paw at the defrosted mush later. Envy
