I'm lucky enough to live in the country and have two fabulous dogs, both scruffy working types and getting on a bit now. As a child I wasn't allowed pets, so had imaginary ones insteadBlush

I find I still fantasise and sometimes dream about other dogs I may one day have though ( then feel awful).

Here's the thing. I'm a bit obsessed with poodles and have no idea why. I can imagine owning two standard poodles called Percy and Valerie. ( not clipped, obviously)

@cuntinghomicidalcardigan

My DD (who is 3.5yo) for the last 4 months has had an imaginary dog called Timothy like the dog George has in the Famous Five (we are reading her the famous five stories). He goes everywhere with us, she never EVER forgets to put on his collar and lead before we go out, she makes sure he is strapped in in the car and she feeds him every night when she finishes her tea. From her description, timothy is smallish, brown with big ears.

We are now looking for a puppy as the continued emotional battering is too much for me! Timothy first appeared after our old boy (who was around her entire life and was devoted to her) was sadly pts last year. The last few months he has become a huge presence in our lives!

I had several imaginary dogs as a child and finally broke my parents down at four and we got our first dog. None of us have been without one since, you won’t regret it

Imaginary shaggy elderly lurcher called Dixon, I take him around on a piece of string instead of a lead and he is very refined and gentle.

I've had a red setter called Prince since I was 7, which makes him 34 now. He's in surprisingly good shape, considering Grin

I've never had a real dog. We have two elderly cats at the moment, who wouldn't cope with a dog, and when they're gone, it's a question of fencing - we have a half acre garden and can't afford to fence it enough to contain a dog.

Mine is more of a (frighteningly long and detailed) list of dream dogs I hope to have over my life-breeds and names. To include:
Samoyed, Japanese spitz and white Swiss shepherd (Heidi)-owned at the same time like White Russian dolls, maybe a white Pomeranian too.
Leonberger (Bear/Bjorn), border terrier (otter/Otto) Swedish vallhund (Wolf) and greyhound (Moose) all together like woodland animals.
Blonde saluki or white retriever called Taylor Swift
Duck toller called Hamish or Fraser
Sheltie called Wellington (after the womble) and border terrier called Paddington.
A girl gang of border collies-Wendy, Cheryl, Polly, Maisy, Betty, Sasha.
Karen the scruffy terrier type with an attitude
