Residential dog training

I wonder if anyone has sent their dog to a residential trainer in the North East of England and if so did it work?

One of the key features of dog training is training the owner as well. Residential dog training does not achieve this.

I'm currently attending one to one training sessions and I'm being trained as much as my dog is. So I can't see what benefit there would be in your dog being trained without you there.

Just to echo every other poster. Don't do it. Get yourself trained with your dog. Training is a lifelong part of dog ownership and hugely important in building and reinforcing the bond between you. It never stops, no matter how old your dog. You need to understand how your dog learns, their favoured rewards and equally importantly they need to build up their relationship with you and feel comfortable working with you and reading your signals.

Didn't someone post about this some weeks ago? I'm sure a poster mentioned residential training for owner and dog together, unless I misunderstood.
