Would love your suggestions about what to feed ddog. She is a 15 month old dustbin labrador.

I'm slightly concerned that with her dustbin like appetite she is likely to become a little portly if we are not really careful.

She was on Arden Grange large breed puppy food before, but it has now run out and I'm not sure what to go for next.

It has to be dry food, and reasonably priced as finances are quite tight at the moment.

My Lab is fed Burns. His coat is super shiney from it too.
He's 6mths and not yet a typical greedy lab. He grazes on his food rather than gulping it down. He does however get a fair few little treats from training him.

Our 33kg lab is fed millies wolfheart. Excellent quality protiens and grain free. he doesn't get a lot so a £50 14.5kg bag lasts around 5-6 weeks. He is used to small portions and knows there is no point in begging/drooling as he doesn't get human food unless its occasionally in the kitchen (left over plain meat/small cheese treat). His portions increase/decrease slightly depending on his weight.

have a good look at the allaboutdogfood site to see the different foods, and don't get sucked into paying a lot for a food in a nice bag which is mostly maize or rice e.g. royal canin which is only 2* and is mostly fillers like maize and can cost £50 a bag, Burns is a bit better but still a whopping 60%+ rice, nice brown rice, but still rice,

Grain should be avoided if you can, but if you cant afford to avoid it there are cheaper alternatives that are similar quality. i.e. Some (not all so be careful) Skinners(£26) is the roughly the same rating/quality as Burns(£50).

We use millies wolfheart for our 12 year old ex working lab. Need to keep an eye on portions to maintain weight (he swiftly put on a good few kg when we furst switched to it a few years ago) but works out at least as cheap as
bakers etc and better proteins.
