Eric's being weird should I be worried?

It has to be said Eric's a bit of a diva and he can be temperamental. Generally he's happiest when he is the centre of attention and physically close to us.
So it's a bit odd that he's taken to laying on the dining table instead of next to us, he spends a lot of time staring at the wall or into space and he has spells where he just won't settle so he's pacing about, he's jumpy and whining.
Fairly sure it's not a bitch in season as we are well acquainted with the bitches (and their seasons) Hmm near us.
He's had a fair bit of disruption lately so we went away, he ended up at the vets with an infected wound, we've had new boiler and radiators fitted and the clocks changing means that his walks have changed times so that we're not walking in the dark.
He's eating well, toileting as normal and just as enthusiastic as ever about his walks, he has no obvious limp and no pain when I've felt round him. He's wearing a sweater because he's obviously unhappy when I take it off but it's never cold here so it's not for that reason.
Obviously I'll take him to the vet if needed but not sure what I can tell her other than he's being weird. Any thoughts?

Has he been disturbed by fireworks ,my mums dogs have been particularly strange in the last couple of weeks and we have put it down to them being anxious over fireworks . Do you think his jumpers are making him too hot , perhaps you should swap to tshirts .

The fireworks don't bother him, he barely raises an eyebrow when they go off so I don't think it's that. The jumper settles him down tbh as last night he wouldn't settle and was whining in the evening. I showed him the jumper and he sat waiting for me to put it on and then settled down to sleep on the table.
It's really weird (he's asleep on the table now rather than by my feet or in his bed) but I suppose it could be down to all the changes that we've gone through. I'll try a t shirt though to make sure he's not over heated and nip him to the vets if it doesn't settle down I suppose.

Mine is 18 months and has just begun this. Maybe it's their version of teenage years she seems to be sulking with me but no idea why. She greets visitors with joy!

I'd suggest the vets just to rule out illness or some ongoing issue from his wound...

But, I'm kind of thinking anxiety/stress tbh, firstly because of the jumper thing, if it's not for warmth it might well be because a lot of dogs find something on reassuring, it's a sensory thing and the idea behind thunder shirts and because on top of the table is a better place to be if you're worried about something as you can see everywhere.

tabulah that makes sense, we've had an awful night with him unable to settle so I'm going to buy an adaptil plug in and collar today and if there's no improvement take him to the vets early next week.
I think it's a culmination of all the upheaval of the last few weeks and the radiators look and sound different so he can't get away from them.Poor little dog.

Well I bought the Adaptil diffuser from the vet because they didn't have the collar in his size in stock. The transformation is amazing, Eric's asleep by my feet like he used to be and he looks so much more relaxed. Hopefully this will continue but if not I'll pop him to the vets next week.
