Christmas Shopping Pet Style!

So what are your spoiled ones getting this year? Murph the Scottie is having a cheap ball pit. He's ball mad and I think he'll be diving in it. I've also seen Lilys are doing an advent calendar this year too so I'll be ordering one of those.
B&M has a great range of Christmas dog toys as well, and christmas jumpers!

Nothing. She could do with a new collar or two and she can never have too many balls, but I'll probably get that for her before Christmas.

My parents don't want Christmas presents so I might give their dog one instead - homemade dog treats and some poo bags.

If I make dog treats for their dog, I'll probably make a portion for my own dog too though.

WeAllHaveWings · 10/11/2015 20:06

New tuffy dog toy (a rabbit), a few packs of innocent hound venison sausages and some liver treats.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 10/11/2015 21:53

We've always gone for a nice doggy stocking with Barney so I guess we'll continue the tradition with Monty.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 10/11/2015 21:53

Hello by the way. Grin

SistersOfPercy · 10/11/2015 23:03

Hello adora! How are you?

I'm afraid murph is spoiled. If I go out shopping I usually pick up something for him be it a 50p cuddly from the charity shop or a cheap b&m toy. It's now embarrassingly at the stage where he sees me come in with a bag and sits patiently at my feet to see what I've brought home Blush

At this stage I've done more Christmas shopping for him than the kids.

They're the obedient children we never had.

How's Murphy doing now? Did he have his op ok?

SistersOfPercy · 11/11/2015 00:02

He did have his op yes, he's fine. Still grumpy. He's not a fan of strangers approaching him so we tend to muzzle him in public now, he's fine unless someone tried to stroke him, he clearly doesn't want to be touched, though if a stranger comes in the house and sits on the sofa hes happy to dive on them for a fuss. It's odd, it's like he doesn't trust people out of the home but in it they are fine and welcome.

I did know Scots as a breed could be what the books describe as 'fiercely loyal' which I assume is code for 'exceptionally grumpy' but as Jack was a big soft lump I wasn't really expecting it.

Funny little thing he is.

, but Chigley will be getting a Millies Wolfheart Christmas Hamper, which now leaves me with a dilemma, what the hell do I get the cat that compares?

ScrappyMalloy · 11/11/2015 17:07

I had a bit of a rummage around pets at home this morning, and have some nice christmas treats, some squeaky toys, a fake mouse from the cat section for my nervous little terrier, and Christmas jumpers and Santa hats for them both.

They were modelling the clothes this afternoon for DS, while we sang It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas while they scrabbled the hats off

Millie's do a Christmas hamper? Grin [santa]

Freya15 · 14/11/2015 18:33

Hi all..
Ive got a extremly spoilt 16 month old mastiff cross. Which he deserves. I suffer greatly with anziety, to the point I wouldn't leave the house. Until I did some research on the benifits of owning a dog. And how therapeutic they are. My big lad (Shankly) is my life line. I can manage to get out with him at my side.
So as you can gather we spend every day together.

Loving your ideas for Christmas, especially the sand pit.. I bought my guy a paddling pool in summer to keep him cool. Loved it.
Don't know how creative you guys are but there's some fab recipes for dog treats and cakes online.
I was thinking of making a home made hamper. With all his favs in. He especially likes pigs ears. But his bum doesn't. .lol

SistersOfPercy · 14/11/2015 19:44

freya I did consider reusing Murphs Paddling Pool for his ball pit, but with a collapsible one only £4 on eBay I thought it might be better than dragging in and cleaning the big pool.

On another note I caved and ordered him the Christmas Lilys bundle from Ocado:

www.ocado.com/webshop/bundle/lily-s-kitchen-dog-food-christmas-bundle-20/96300248

Advent Calendar, turkey biscuits and a three bird feast dinner.

I can also recommend this site:

www.dfordog.co.uk/edible-dog-cards.html

DD bought Murph an edible birthday card from there a few weeks ago, it was rawhide and he's still picking through it actually. They have some fab Christmas cards on there.
Need to stop now, I've spoilt the dog and so far the kids have nothing Blush

That last line says it all Percy. Grin

SistersOfPercy · 14/11/2015 20:09

Does a bit doesn't it adora, I only need a few stocking fillers for them really as at 18 and 23 it's going to be money, but they are almost impossible to buy for now, whereas Murph, if it squeaks, goes into raptures Grin

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 14/11/2015 20:36

With Monty if it's edible, he's happy.

insan1tyscartching · 15/11/2015 11:32

Eric will get an assortment of toys, he particularly likes those that make piggy noises. He'll get a new sweater and he needs a new collar and lead and he'll get some treats. He'll have Christmas dinner as well which will be his favourite part particularly as he'll get a sausage and a couple of raw sprouts alongside the turkey.

LimeJellyHead · 15/11/2015 20:18

I'm stuck for ideas for my two this year. Both too old now to be bothered with toys and games. They have more beds and blankets than any dog could ever need. They love opening presents though (the whole tearing open the wrapping paper) so I might wrap up lots of treats in lots of parcels.
