Meet Arthur

I am in the first flush of love!

His parents both PRA/FN clear, eyes clear. My old lab has taken to him beautifully. Yay!

aw look at all these spanners! and have loads of fun with your new dpup, how cute!! awwwwwwww!

totally agree about not being fooled into thinking aw too young/small to teach that recall and lead stuff at this age. At this age is best time as they are so keen to please and become good community member at this age and so thrilled to please.

have fun! and all those cuddles oh!!

Love our working cocker so much. The puppy stage is flipping hard work and I admit there were some points when I could have handed her back but now she is 18 months she is the most wonderful loving family dog. I had dogs growing up but I never realised it was possible to love a dog as much as I love her. She is so good and doesn't chew and is much better at not pulling. She is never apart from us and follows us everywhere, they have such a strong bond to their family. We also have a 3 year old ds (imagine a working cocker spaniel in child form) they are as mad as each other. They play beautifully together and she has never even growled at him even when he has accidentally fallen on her etc. If he isn't well or falls out of bed or something she is the one to tell us as she always keeps an eye out for him. Best decision we ever made getting our gorgeous girl.

Cariad, I really love your car upholstery, fantastic colour!

So many gorgeous cockers, we need a collective noun; a bonkers? A jolly? A Christmas?

cariadisnaehappy · 07/11/2015 14:10

Thanks Sweet that's my other baby Wink

SweetLathyrus · 07/11/2015 19:59

So, is it only Cockers that HAVE to greet you with something in their mouths, or do other breeds do it?

PhilPhilConnors · 07/11/2015 20:03

Ours always has something to carry around.
I've just discovered him in the garden with ds's Peppa Pig.
He's bonkers but loads of fun.

PassiveAgressiveQueen · 07/11/2015 21:16

Mine never carries stuff, it either gets eaten or ignored

Floundering · 07/11/2015 22:50

Lovely pooches, the first spanner I ever got to know & love was an Oscar, a Springer rather than cocker but still part of the dotty dog brigade.
What is it about them that gives them that nutty but loveable streak?

Wotsitsareafterme · 08/11/2015 18:10

A chaos of cockers?

PassiveAgressiveQueen · 08/11/2015 18:55

Yep chaos is a great collective noun

MissRainbowBrite · 08/11/2015 20:53

It can't only be Cockers that do the greeting you with the first thing they pick up thing as our Springer does it too. It's usually a shoe but anything that she finds will do, DD's teddies and slippers are also favourites, then if you don't take it from her she goes and deposits it back in her bed so you end up with one warm shoe for next time.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 09/11/2015 09:49

Our old boy always went for shoes too. Confused Grin

As soon as someone knocked on the door he'd be up and barking and then frantically looking round for a good shoe to grab. Or when we came in, it was always a shoe.

Seawig · 09/11/2015 14:12

We had a staffie that had to meet you carrying a shoe and always greeted us like the best things that had ever happened to her with muffled chatter around the mouthful of shoe and damp footwear.

She would see someone coming to the door and run off to find a shoe to show them....obviously being a staffie she didn't actually want you to take the shoe off her so there was always a fair amount of 'Oh no! Not that shoe, how did she find it?! Come back!!'

CakeMountain · 09/11/2015 15:28

Oh my God, these gorgeous cockers Smile. I think the same hormone must be released when you see a puppy as when you see a baby - because I feel so broody for one now!

TyDy · 09/11/2015 21:08
