Millies Wolfheart, any experiences?

Hi,

I would be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of this food?

We've been doing raw for about 18 months now and i've decided to switch, for a few reasons. This food seems to be high quality, grain free, free of rubbish and has an excellent meat content, albeit quite expensive! Does anyone have any feedback they'd be willing to share? Smile

We cycle - Millie's, Orijen and Bob and lush, occasionally nature diet wet food too. The dog seems to get bored after a while and I figure her diet is less likely to be lacking in something if we mix it up. We're pretty happy with them all, have you looked on www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk?

I've just changed from Canagan to Millie's because they do a wider range of flavours (Ddog didn't like Canagan salmon, and was getting bored with the other two varieties). He is really enjoying it - we bought a range of 200g packs to try and have just taken delivery of a selection in larger bags. He is looking really good on it (but then, he did on his other food too), and by using their variety bulk buy offers, I have found it marginally cheaper than Canagan. I would also add that their delivery service has been top notch.

I really rate it. My dogs like it and have amazing condition on it. I usually give one of the higher protein ones - salmon or turkey. I once swapped to one of the more carby flavours but they seemed to be incredibly hungry so went back to the 70% protein.

My lot have been on it for a few years now (swapped to it from Acana/Orijen due to occasional problems with them being out of stock everywhere) and it's fantastic stuff.

I've got three on the Countryside Mix and one on the Hunter Mix, they're also now getting the new wet foods as well.

They all love it, they never seem hungry between meals and they all look amazing.

Good to know! Thanks guys Grin

Must admit I feel guilty about stopping the raw when I know it is so good for him, but this stuff seems like a fairly close second. Can't see anything nasty at all in the ingredients list.

My nearly 3 year old lab has been on Millies since he was around 6 months old. Loves it. He has Countryside Mix with around 25% Salmon & Veg mixed in.

Before Millies he was on another high protein food but had very loose stools and smelly wind for months, but, since switching to Millies he has nice firm easy to lift poos and only gets wind when he eats something he's found outside.

Customer service is always great direct from the owners June and Mark, deliveries through DPD and very reliable. If you can buy and store 3 bags or more it works out a bit cheaper (and saves being in for deliveries too often).

They have (havent been on it for a while) quite an active facebook group too you can join and ask questions which other users or June/Mark will answer.

Have you looked at purepetfood? It's a dehydrated raw food you just keep in the cupboard and rehydrate? Easy Peary - but reasonably expensive

I bought a few sample packs for my Shih Tzu pup. He could only eat it moistened, as the kibble was too big for his teeth. I've had to change to another high quality dry food that does a puppy version.

Ours was on it for a while, it was fine, but the postage costs were too expensive (not part of mainland UK, but still costs the same to post here as anywhere else in the UK except by pisstaking companies who like to penalise customers) so I now give my money to Eden, which is also a 5* rated food on allaboutdogfood and is the only one I can buy in this country.

TooOldForGlitter · 17/10/2015 14:50

I have looked at pure pet foods, thank you for the tip, but it's just too expensive for me.
