Anyone awake? New puppy problems. Sad/stressed :(

Am so confused and feel like we are just flailing. sad
Brought home our beautiful 8 week old Labrador on Sunday.
We have used puppy pads/taking her into the garden. Not very many accidents in the house. Couple of wees on the floor each day. One poo in the dining room today, but ALL other poos outside.
But on Saturday night and last night DH slept with her lying on his tummy, downstairs on the sofa.
We realise we need to break this. So now we are in bed and she is in her crate with the door open at one end of the hallway, and a puppy pad at the other end. She has her blanket and her cuddly toy in the crate. She is crying a bit, on and off. But not too bad. But it's loud and distressing when she does it, even if only for a second. Am I doing things right?
Read about having the fate in our room but don't think that's a good idea.
Please please help. It's like the blind leading the blind here sad

We have a nearly 5 month month old lab too (and just 2yo ds and 9mo dd Shock )

We didn't crate train him (no particular reason, we just didn't, he has a dog bed)

We used pads too. He was always quite good (but being a male had a few aiming issues Wink) he quite consistently went either on the pad or outside, then he did have a few nights of having no wees, so we just removed the pads completely and he hasn't an accident indoors for nearly a month now.

It does get easier. I've only recently stopped thinking "what the fuck have we done!!!" Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of days where I seemed to be cleaning wee off the carpet more than doing anything else, but it does get so much easier.

When he cried in the night, it meant he wanted to go, is that what it is? Do you use the crate in the day?

And the nipping will stop too as long as you consistently don't let her do it. Like the way they try to chew your hand when you're stroking/playing, don't even let her do that.

Max (our puppy) had a thing for the kids ears, wouldn't actually bite them just nipping but he's stopped that too now, and he used to jump up at them too, we kept moving him away and making a loud noise, he doesn't do that either now

Here it goes from me as well: you have not crate trained her, you have shut her in a crate which she now associates with being left on her own. You took her from her mum and siblings so you cannot expect her to sleep on her own. Either allow her in the bedroom/go sleep with her or put up with the crying and any problems this may cause.
