Greyhound resource guarding + baby?

I've posted before about my concerns around MIL & FIL's approach to their retired grey, who is lovely, but who they don't think should be treated like other dogs as they believe the breed is 'different'. I fear they are mistaking placid for well-trained.

This dog has become quite aggressive when guarding objects, and they don't think this is a problem. I have a small baby who stays with them and who they repeatedly let approach the dog and pull his ears/stand on his tail/etc. despite me asking them to respect the dog's space and not let the baby do that. How can I get them to acknowledge that maybe there's more work to be done with their dog? They refuse to acknowledge that greyhounds as a breed could ever be dangerous. Any useful links?

This may be tough to hear but you do not need website linkS. Is there really anything ILS could read that would change their views? They sound completely clueless. A baby should never be left unsupervised with any dog and should never be allowed to hit, pull, fall on or hug the dog. A resource guarding dog needs immediate re-training under the supervision of an experienced trainer.

The solution here is to stop them seeing your DC in their home with the dog. Sounds harsh but dealing with the aftermath of a baby who has been bitten will be a lot harsher.
